The Scale Institute are thrilled to present our proposal in response to the RFQ for the NIAA’s Learning and Development Calendar 2024-26. Rooted in our core mission, The Scale Institute harbours a profound commitment to advancing professional development amongst First Nations individuals. We wholeheartedly believe in catalysing transformative change, one that transcends beyond mere numbers.

Acknowledging the critical revelations of the 'Closing the Gap' report, we recognise its urgency. It isn't merely about data; it's a poignant reflection of the academic and socioeconomic divides that our Indigenous counterparts grapple with. The time to act is now, and we are impassioned to partner with NIAA in navigating this path. Here's a snapshot of the competencies we aim to enhance:

  1. Relationships and Engagement: Building and managing stakeholder relations, Cultivating community ties, Fostering collaboration & trust, and Emotional intelligence & partnership principles

  2. APS Policy and Programs: Robust policy formulation & user-centric design, Effective policy rollout & program blueprinting, Comprehensive, program oversight, and Critical evaluation of policies and programs

  3. Decision Making and Problem Solving: Strategic briefing & intuitive response, Data-driven verdicts, Cultivating critical cognition, and Mitigating unconscious biases

  4. Project: Adopting diverse methodologies, Employing relevant metrics, and Accurate scoping and process mapping

  5. Supervisory, Management, and Leadership: Mastery in supervision & management, Leadership prowess, Impactful influencing and proficient delegation, Visionary strategic insights and adapting to change, and Seamlessly managing remote and flexible teams

  6. Productivity: Optimising workload management, Mastering time utility, Enhancing process efficacy and Structured organisation and resource optimisation

Since our inception in 2017, our commitment to excellence has led us to design and deploy workshop curricula, innovative teaching methods, and robust learning assessment tools. We envision a synergistic collaboration with the NIAA, where we aspire to sculpt networks that propel the next wave of First Nations leaders – equipping them to be forward-thinking and to leave an indelible mark.
